Chicago Story Press will be publishing an anthology of creative nonfiction: "Storytellers' True Stories about Family."
What We’re Looking for:
Authentic Family Experiences: We're seeking true stories that illuminate the vast array of family dynamics. Whether it's a narrative about a significant family event, the evolution of family relationships over time, the impact of family on personal growth, or a unique tradition that your family cherishes, your authentic experiences are what we seek.
Diversity in Family Narratives: The concept of family varies greatly across cultures, geographies, and individual experiences. We encourage submissions that reflect this diversity. Stories about non-traditional families, cross-cultural family experiences, or any other unique aspect of family life are especially welcome.
Emotional Depth and Personal Reflection: We value stories that delve into the emotional complexities of family life. Share your narratives that offer insight, stir empathy, and provoke deeper understanding. We're looking for stories that not only tell what happened but also explore the impact it had on you and your family.
Stories should be between 1,000 – 2,000 words and should not be published elsewhere.
Please submit using a Word Doc only. Double spaced, New Times Roman.
One entry per submission fee.
Note: We do extensive edits as we believe in presenting the most impactful and well-crafted stories to our audience.
The deadline is July 1, 2024. You will hear from us either way, 30-60 days after the deadline.
Payment of $25.00 upon publication of the book.
